Toby opened his eyes and found himself under a blanket of snow in an embankment on the side of the road, following a night of drinking. Feeling relieved that he was alive, his first thought was “Thank you, God.”
Although Toby believed in God, his faith never truly felt like it was his own—it was just forever lurking in the background of his life. He tried to fill his life with what he thought would make him happy—alcohol, smoking, and drugs—but he only found emptiness, loneliness, and sadness. After a divine encounter with a co-worker, Toby was challenged to make a decision, a choice that led him to find a true sense of peace and fulfillment in his Jewish Messiah.
